Vision Correction You Can Count On

Wish you could see the world more clearly without having to rely on your glasses or contact lenses?

LASIK may be the perfect solution for you!

Discover a Whole New World With LASIK

With LASIK (Laser-Assisted In-Situ Keratomileusis) you’ll enjoy clear vision, all day, every day – with little or no need for corrective eyewear.

Have any of the following?

  • Myopia/nearsightedness-difficulty seeing faraway objects
  • Hyperopia/farsightedness-difficulty seeing faraway and near objects
  • Astigmatism– near and far objects appear blurred

Gone are the days of foggy, rain-speckled lenses. LASIK will give you the clear vision you desire and the confidence you deserve.

Moreover, LASIK surgery is a highly effective procedure and fast procedure — it only takes a few minutes!

What Is LASIK?

If you have trouble seeing near or far away— you’ve come to the right place!

You see, if the focusing power of your eye and the shape of your eye doesn’t match up, then light ends up focusing in front of the retina instead of directly on it. This is what causes you to experience blurred vision at varying distances (also known as refractive error). So whether you have nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism — you can easily correct your vision using LASIK.

LASIK surgery permanently changes the curve of the cornea by using a cool beam of light to reshape the cornea and correct the refractive error.

Up to 96% of patients experience significant vision corrections approaching 20/40 or better. After LASIK surgery, most patients experience a massively reduced need for glasses or contacts, with many requiring no vision correction at all.

While it can take a few weeks to experience the full result, recovery from the surgery itself usually takes only a few days.

Are You a Candidate for LASIK?

  • You’re over 18 years of age
  • Your prescription hasn’t changed in at least two years
  • You have a sufficiently thick cornea, with a normal curve and tear film
  • Your prescription is within the right range for LASIK

Those with mild to moderate nearsightedness tend to experience the best results. Patients with more severe nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism may need to be seen by their eye doctor for further evaluation to determine the level of success they can expect with LASIK.

    How to Prepare for LASIK

Prior to your procedure, your board-certified ophthalmologist will perform a thorough eye exam to assess your suitability for LASIK surgery and to measure your cornea to determine the exact laser settings needed to obtain the optimum corneal shape.

During the eye exam, the eye doctor will search for signs of the following, which may interfere with surgery:

    • Inflamed eyes
    • Eye infection
    • Large pupils
    • Elevated eye pressure
    • Dry eyes
    • Thin corneas

In the weeks leading up to LASIK surgery, we recommend you wear glasses instead of contact lenses, as contact lenses can alter the shape of your eye.

What To Expect During LASIK Surgery

First, your eye surgeon will numb the front of the eye, then create a small flap in your cornea using a specialized tool. The flap will be folded back to access the underlying part of the cornea and remove the exact amount of tissue from the cornea with a laser.

Once the surgeon reshapes the cornea with a laser, they will place the flap back in place and allow the cornea to heal.

    What Happens After LASIK?

Immediately following LASIK surgery, you may experience:

    • Itchy eyes
    • Watery eyes
    • Burning eye sensation
    • Blurred vision
    • Some pain or discomfort

You should be able to see clearly the next day, but you may still experience some fluctuation in your vision. It can take up to a few weeks for your vision to fully stabilize.

Don’t worry. Our board-certified eye doctors will provide you with post-surgical instructions and medications to help reduce any pain and discomfort you may experience. You may have to wear a shield over your eyes at night until they heal.

Expect to come in for follow-up eye exams to monitor progress and ensure everything is in check.

What are the Alternatives to LASIK?

If for whatever reason you’re not a candidate for LASIK, we offer other options. These include PRK and Epi-LASIK, LASEK, and Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE), as well as premium lens implants. The staff at will help you decide which procedure is best for your vision and lifestyle.
